Work Jaryah
Ever flowing.
Jāriyah means “ever flowing”, from sadaqah jāriyah, the charity that keeps giving. We drew the name in square Kufic on a grid, took our colours from the four rivers of Jannah, and built one family for Jaryah Books and Jaryah Studios.

The name
Drawn cell by cell
The wordmark is square Kufic, Arabic written on a grid: every stroke is a cell, so the name can be laid out in a line, stacked, or set inside a shape without being redrawn.

The colours
Four rivers
Surah Muhammad (47:15) describes rivers of water, milk, honey and wine. They became our palette, and Jāriyah shares its root with tajrī, the word for how those rivers flow.

- خمرWine
The forms
One family, a shape for each part
Every form is drawn from one circle divided into eight and sixteen. Jaryah Books has the cusped frame, Jaryah Studios the honey shamsa, and covers the mandorla stamped on a bound book.
