Two designers, one way of seeing.
Jaryah Studios is run by Afreen Fazil and Yiasir Ahmed, a husband-and-wife team working between the UK and the UAE. We design identities, campaigns, social, print, digital and books, for restaurants and institutes as much as for start-ups.
Book design has its own name, Jaryah Books: the same two people, the same colours and the same eye, with a site of its own for publishers and authors.

The name
Jāriyah means ever flowing, from sadaqah jāriyah: the good that keeps going after the work is done.
The colours
Four rivers
In Surah Muhammad (47:15) the rivers of Jannah are of water, milk, wine and honey. They became our four colours, and Jāriyah shares its root with tajrī, the word the Qur’an uses again and again for the rivers that flow beneath the gardens. Every shape we draw comes from one circle: the cusped frame for Jaryah Books, the honey shamsa for Jaryah Studios.
